Your Name/what you go by: Jen
AIM/E-mail/contact info - some way of reaching you: AIM: Aurajen007, email: aurajen007_shinra@sbcglobal.net
Your character's name (last, first): Aziraphale
Series your character's from: Good Omens

Background info on your character:

Aziraphale is an angel (a Principality, actually, but apparently people make jokes about that these days) and has been on Earth for quite awhile as an “agent” of sorts from Heaven. In fact, he’s been living on Earth from the very beginning of its creation, being the angel who guarded the eastern gate of the Garden of Eden, wielding a nifty flaming sword. (Which he later gave to Adam and Eve after they were banished, because, well frankly, they looked so cold, the poor things, and there are vicious animals out there, not to mention a storm coming up.) The biblical Garden is also where Aziraphale met the demon Crowley, who also happened to be the snake that tempted Eve to take a bite out of the Forbidden Fruit.

Approximately 6,000 years later, Aziraphale and Crowley are good friends, despite the fact that they’re technically supposed to be enemies. But after spending so many (thousands of) years of seeing the same familiar face, you tend to grow accustomed to that particular person. That and they both share in common the fact that they’ve become very attached to the earthly world, and even the humans that reside in it. They even form an Arrangement – it only really deserves a capital letter because it’s been around since the year 1020 – which basically was an agreement to not interfere in each other’s activities on Earth. Neither won and neither lost against each other when it came to either thwarting evil and promoting good (in Aziraphale’s case) or somehow making souls all that more tarnished so they’ll become the property of Hell much more easily (in Crowley’s case). This pretty much turns out well for the both of them, most especially after the antichrist shows up, because as mentioned before, they’re too keen on the earthly lifestyle to just watch it all come to an end. It’s a bit of trouble, but they even manage to help put a stop to Armageddon so they can continue onwards with the first day of the rest of their lives.

Concerning appearance, the book reveals very little about Aziraphale. The authors manage to use the adjective “pale” and point out a few times that he has very nice, elegant hands. There is one quote, however, that helps sum up both his appearance and his personality: “Many people, meeting Aziraphale for the first time, formed three impressions: that he was English, that he was intelligent, and that he was gayer than a tree full of monkeys on nitrous oxide”. Basically, this angel is very polite, proper, stereotypically British-sounding, and always eager to do the right thing. He really is very intelligent, but little things such as sarcasm and colloquialism are lost on him most of the time. He’s enjoys collecting rare books, and even runs a rare bookshop; though it’s more of a place where he stores his collection rather than sell it, since he makes things as difficult as possible for any of his customers to purchase a book. Oh, silly angel.

And since he’s an angel, it’s only natural that he can perform a few supernatural feats. He can blink and turn your firearms into water pistols. He can say “let there be light” and there will be a faint blue light for your… lighting convenience. Like Crowley, he can go from drunk to sober in record time. And even though he can perform convenient miracles to help others, he usually prefers to let humans sort out their own problems. So basically there will not be a lot of abuse of this on island. ):

Also, what they were doing when they got pulled to the island, any relations with anyone else? Etc)
He’s known Crowley for about 6000 years, so yeah, he’s a friend, as mentioned above. Otherwise, there’s no one else on island from his canon? Also both were going to the Ritz for some delicious lunch, but then hello there island.

Sample post: (First person point of view, please)

Are there duck ponds here, I wonder? It would be very nice if there were duck ponds here. And ducks, of course. Always an enjoyable way to spend one’s rather unexpected gain of abundant free time, feeding the ducks. I rather like it.

After all, I’d expect if there are alcoholic coconuts, cursed springs, trees that grow rather interesting yet unnatural food items, and strange daily occurrences existing on this island, then certainly it would be reasonable to expect a duck pond at the very least? And just one or two ducks would be fine, really.

But to be perfectly honest, this entire situation of suddenly being someplace I did not expect to is a little disconcerting. This isn’t something you came up with, is it, Crowley? This whole “strange, unexplainable island” bit, I mean. Because I’m sorely tempted to blame demonic influences for the lyrical themes of The Sound of Music following me about a few days ago. How awful. I’d rather listen to Be-bop than that. Though preferably some Bach or Tchaikovsky. Definitely Tchaikovsky, even though I still don’t know what to think of his “Another One Bites the Dust”. Strange, that particular one.

Then again, I suppose it doesn’t seem like the type of thing you might do. It doesn’t seem like your… style, as they put it. Not something you would have planned out; and most definitely something I would never even dare to think about.

Of course, it is all part of the divine ineffable plan. Nothing happens that isn’t part of that, both Good and Evil, actions of both up above and down below. If you think of it like that, then perhaps it isn’t as bad as I make it out to be, The Sound of Music or otherwise.

Ah, well. If there won’t be any duck-feeding this afternoon, then…

…would anyone like to see a magic trick instead?

A list of things your character might have on them after they got snatched up and put on this island:

The clothes on his back /o/!
